As I review what people are doing to get past the google slap, I can't help but feel sorry for them. Many new people are being guided by other new people who are all with good intentions trying their best to help and offer help. But really, very few people take the time to really research something, and even less time learning something they really do not care to learn. And why should they?
For Internet marketers, their job should be marketing their product or business. Yet, many of them are being told that this is part of business, part of what it takes to become a great marketer - as my son would say; bull mess!
You know, I appreciate the efforts people put into doing something, hey, they might even be pretty good at it in a year or so. But if you were or are like me, most of what I first learned has long been thrown into the trash. Yep, there is always learning to be had, and I wouldn't give up what I have learned about website development and programming over the last ten years for anything.
But do you have a few years to get all the things sorted out? Are you willing to find out 6 months from now that what your blind friend told you to do doesn't really work, or that the tools you have been given are only a small outdated portion of what is available?
I am a visual person, an artist by birth. I understand things better when I see a picture, or in this example, a contrast to what you might be learning; following and trying, as compared to what is available today.
So, do you keep going with what you're doing because you have something to prove to yourself, while others are generating leads and sales doing what they really want to do, make money?
Just because your leader or sponsor tells you to get the lead (weight) out and figure this out, is that really what you want to do, or should do?
For that matter, why listen to me? Who am I, talking like I have something that it better? That's a fair question.
As with many things in life, we must first step out in faith, trusting what we hear because until we've experienced it for ourselves, there is no way to fully understand what it is.
So what is IT? Well this much I know, the pictures on this post are true. Meaning, you most likely are working with tools, parts and the limitations of the past. What worked two years ago, can and is continually improved. This is the computer age, things change and get more automated, simpler and just better... Especially for Internet Marketers.
So. Are you sure you are working with technology that can make your marketing business easier and more profitable? Do you want to spend your time making money, or figuring stuff out?
