Best Practices for Title and Description Tags

Due to being busy I have never written on this topic in detail like I am going to do here. When I really cared, I would enter my title and descriptions very specifically... and for google. This is about character length and keywords and how they are displayed in google organic listings. Note I said displayed. This article is not focused on keywords as much as on display.

While it is the keywords that make a listing show up in the first place, it is what happens next that is also very important. Someone needs to notice your listing so it gets a click. Right! This is more important at this point than even your landing page because the google visitor is not there yet.

SEO Friendly, Google Happy Spiders

Maybe You Just Need The Right Tools

As I review what people are doing to get past the google slap, I can't help but feel sorry for them. Many new people are being guided by other new people who are all with good intentions trying their best to help and offer help. But really, very few people take the time to really research something, and even less time learning something they really do not care to learn. And why should they?

Making the most out of your PPC adwords campaign requires that you put your landing pages to work in a way that works, and makes google happy. Watch the video below as it explains very well the importance of targeting the right people. However, google is not in charge of your landing page, and therefore the connection between a very throughout adword ad and the proper landing page content is what is important.

There is one very important feature when selecting your domain name for your new landing page site. Because google wants relevant content, they also give more attention to websites that use a similar domain name or have some of the keywords in the domain name.

Google Website Optimizer and Landing Pages

It was funny how I spent at least two weeks trying to figure out the script that could tell a user to go to landing page A or landing page B. I found quite a bit of information on the subject but realized that most of it was for gurus that know how to hard code and build their own pages. I can do that also, but I wanted to make sure that the guy or gale that doesn't know code could easily run a split test. Many of these references where older and out of date by what I was learning.
